A safe Diwali is a happy Diwali.

A few simple habits keep every celebration bright. Please share these with everyone in your family.

Do

  1. 01Buy from licensed shops and keep crackers in their original packing until use.
  2. 02Use crackers outdoors, in open spaces, away from buildings, vehicles and dry leaves.
  3. 03Keep a bucket of water and a bucket of sand within reach.
  4. 04Light with a long agarbatti or sparkler wire, holding it at arm's length.
  5. 05Wear cotton clothes and footwear; tie back long hair and dupattas.
  6. 06Children should always light crackers with an adult beside them.

Don’t

  1. 01Don't light crackers inside the house, in balconies or near gas cylinders.
  2. 02Don't hold bombs, rockets or sky shots in your hand once lit.
  3. 03Don't try to relight a cracker that didn't go off — soak it in water.
  4. 04Don't point rockets or aerial items towards people, homes or wires.
  5. 05Don't carry loose crackers in your pockets.
  6. 06Don't let pets near the celebration area.
